Dr. Barb Kuhns, a retired Geneseo veterinarian, received the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce.

Kuhns was honored during the chamber’s annual dinner, held Thursday, March 7 at Lavender Crest Winery.

Kuhns owned and operated Kuhns’ Animal Clinic from 1981 until her retirement in 2008. She’s been active in a number of local organization, previously serving more than two decades at Hammond-Henry Hospital, first as a member of the hospital’s board of directors and then as a member of the hospital foundation board.

She and her husband, Bob, also are supporters of the Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo, and the new animal shelter is known as the “Bob & Barb Kuhns Pet Haven” in their honor.
