The Friends of Johnson Park Foundation has suspended tours of the Ryan Round Barn at Johnson-Sauk Trail State Recreation Area this spring during a roof replacement project on the historic structure.

A contractor is scheduled to begin work on the roof project on April 1. The project, which is expected to take two to three months to complete, will provide a new asphalt shingle roof over the existing wood shingle roof to preserve the structural integrity of the Ryan Round Barn.

During the project, weddings and other special events will not be allowed on the barn grounds, and the parking lot at the Ryan Round Barn will be closed to the public during construction.
