Leslie C. Anderson, 72, of Andover, Illinois died at his home in mid February, 2020.
 
A much loved brother and uncle, he was a life-long resident of Andover.  He attended Andover Elementary School, and graduated from Orion High School and Western University at Macomb.  Anderson worked for John Deere for ten years before suffering a severe stroke.
 
An excellent gardener, he developed his own form of seed popcorn. Over his lifetime, his generosity from his garden was well known. He was a Regional Wrestling Champion and a State finalist from Orion High school where he served as own coach. He also won many competitions in the martial arts. He had an excellent singing voice and was an accomplished keyboard player. He did volunteer work with his many musical abilities.  He served in the National Guard and was stationed for a short time at Fort Dix, NJ. He had many interests including coin and stamp collecting and evaluating antiques.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee S and Ruth G. Anderson, his older brother Larry L. Anderson, and many aunts, uncles and cousins and his brother-in-law, Attilio  J. Esposito who he thought of as his own brother  Also preceding him in death are his beloved dogs, Bruce, Harley, and Hunter and his beloved pet cat, Hooter.
 
He is survived by his sister, Lynette  G. Esposito, a nephew, Joseph A. Esposito, his wife, Kristen, their daughter, Scarlett, two nieces Amanda Esposito and her husband, Alan Yates,  Sharlene and her husband, James Guth all of New Jersey, and many cousins. A private memorial service will be held in his honor at his sister’s home in New Jersey.
