GALVA — Another highly anticipated summer event has been called off in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic: Galva’s seventh annual Back Road Music Festival, planned for Aug. 15, has been canceled.
"As disheartened as we all are to share and hear this news, please know that we are already working to make next year’s Back Road Music Festival the best yet," a Friday news release announcing the cancellation read. "Rather than allow the disappointment of this news to overshadow how grateful we are for all the support and success we have experienced over the past 7 years; we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you! Thank you to everyone that makes this amazing festival possible."
All three of the country music artists scheduled to perform this year — Randy Houser, Tracy Lawrence and Jimmie Allen — have been rescheduled for next year’s festival on Aug. 14, 2021, in Galva.
Ticketholders have the option to keep their tickets for 2021 or request a refund.
Those who purchased a ticket through Eventbrite will be receiving an email from Eventbrite detailing the refund process. For those who purchased from the Galva Pharmacy, refunds will be available after July 1. Just bring your ticket to the pharmacy to receive a refund. For those keeping their ticket for next year, no action is needed – it is just valid for 2021. Refunds will be available through July 31 of this year.
