Michael Blaine File, 77, of Geneseo, IL, died Thursday, July 18, 2019 at his home
due to a mowing accident. Services were held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July
24, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, Port Byron. Visitation was
4-7pm on Tuesday at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial will be at a
later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Port Byron. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to Pheasants Forever, the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Waterfowl USA, or
Delta Waterfowl.

  Mike was born April 15, 1942 in Moline, IL, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth

(Dailey) File. He graduated from Riverdale High School and Black Hawk College.
He married Jo MacMillan on June 12, 1983 in Port Byron. Mike has always been a
proud family man with a contagious smile and a hearty laugh. He founded Barn
Ridge Kennels in 1973 where he and his beloved wife, Jo, bred and trained
Labradors and German Shorthaired Pointers. Mike was an avid hunter,
fisherman, and dedicated member of Pheasants Forever, Waterfowl USA, Delta
Water Fowl, MVHRC, NRA and Ducks Unlimited. He was also a founding member
of the Geneseo DU chapter. Mike was a devoted Cubs fan.

  Mike is survived by his wife, Jo; son, Matt (Lynn) File, Colona; daughters, Cris

Arduser, East Moline, Patricia Rees, Las Vegas, NV; sister, Marlo (Robert) Winters,
Port Byron; grandchildren, Blaine (Alison) File, Moline, Megan Arduser, Silvis,
Samantha Jasper, Silvis, Amanda (Nick) Hull, Geneseo, Summer (Ben) Wyant,
Green Bay, WI, Raeanne (Jack) Norton, Aledo, Rachel Burbridge, Colona; and 5
great-grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his
