Frances Ellen Rose, a lovely, sweet lady, passed away April 11, 2020 at age 93. She was born March 17, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Francis Eldred Ball and Netta Georgeana (Stewart) Ball. Frances was buried at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Michigan April 16, 2020.

Frances was the beloved wife of 66 years to John Rose and a devoted and loving mother of 4. Frances graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit 1946; went to work as a stenographer at Metropolitan Life Ins. Co., and soon met John (just out of the Army Air Force) at a church outing. They were married two years later on October 30, 1948 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Detroit.

As a newlywed, and while raising a family, Frances worked part and full time office jobs at Dearborn Motors Corp., General Motors Corp., and the Livonia Public Schools. Frances lived in Royal Oak, MI and Livonia, MI before following her husband’s career in 1975 to Geneseo Illinois where she lived for 36 years; working 15 of those years at Central Trust and Savings Bank in Geneseo IL., and retiring in 1991. Frances and her husband moved back to Michigan to be with family; first to Williamsburg MI in 2011 and then to Farmington MI in 2014.

Frances went to be with her Lord and Savior after a life full of His blessings. She worshipped at Grace Presbyterian Church in Detroit, St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Livonia, Geneseo Evangelical Free Church and St. Pete’s Evangelical Community Church in Geneseo, IL. Frances is survived by her four children and their spouse, 12 grandchildren she adored, 1 sister-in-law and 12 nieces and nephews. Frances is preceded in death by her husband (2014), an infant baby angel daughter, an older adopted sister, a niece, lovely sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

Frances was first and foremost a devoted and loving wife and mother of four: Kathleen, Robert, Thomas and Margaret. All of her activities and energies were directed at benefiting her family. With much self sacrifice and inspiration, she worked to instilled good character and positive attitudes in her children. With her beautiful hand writing, Frances enjoyed corresponding with many friends and family members. She will be remembered as a cheerful, delightful, encouraging and considerate person. She was also, sentimental, industrious, intelligent, and kind. She enjoyed life and had a warm sense of humor. Frances Ellen Rose was a blessing in our lives and will be missed very much.
