Kim M. VanMeenen

Kim M. VanMeenen, 64, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo, IL. Father Daniel Gifford will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. A recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to Randy for use towards a Kim VanMeenen Memorial Fund.

Kim was born May 5, 1957, the daughter of Duane and Inez (Lund) Vandersnick, in Geneseo. She graduated from Atkinson High School, class of 1975, and went on to earn an associate degree from Black Hawk College. On October 15, 1977, she married the love of her life, Randy VanMeenen. She was employed as a bank associate for Union Federal Savings & Loan, Moline branch, and prior to that at the Henry County Courthouse as a receptionist. She was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church. She loved making memories with her grandchildren and spending special time with her mother, Inez. She also enjoyed vacationing with her special friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Inez; her loving husband, Randy; daughter, Terri VanMeenen, Macomb; grandchildren, London, Kennedy, and Beckett Holevoet of Heyworth, and Ainsleigh Misfeldt of Geneseo; brother, Larry (Caryn) Vandersnick, Geneseo; brother-in-law, Dwaine (Janice) VanMeenen, Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Kelly Holevoet; her father, Duane Vandersnick; brothers, Michael and Jason Vandersnick; Randy's parents, Edward and Dorothy VanMeenen.
