Marion Louise Bos

Geneseo - Marion Louise Bos, 90, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Geneseo Evangelical Free Church, Geneseo, IL. Reverend Dustin Largent will officiate. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery, Erie. Visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Marion Bos Memorial Fund.

Marion was born September 8, 1931, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel (Newingham) Tyler, in Erie, IL. She graduated from Erie High School. On October 20, 1951, Marion married Peter C. Bos in a service held in Erie, IL. She was a member of SonRise Bible Church, Atkinson, IL. Her morning routine included listening to sermons on WDLM at her kitchen table and reading the Bible. She was considered an adopted mother or grandmother to anyone in need. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved fishing and looking for arrowheads. Marion enjoyed helping Peter on the farm, baking, gardening, crossword puzzles, and word searches. Friends and family always loved her generous spirit, and she will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, James (Lynn) Bos, Atkinson, Patricia (Floyd) Matney, Prophetstown, Jane (Larry) Mueller, Neponset, Joan (Darin) Christian, Buda; daughter-in-law, Susan Bos, Geneseo, thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Glee Bos; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ethel; husband, Peter C.; son, Peter A.; grandson, Steven Christian; and siblings, Elmer Tyler, Betty Bos, Maureen Croxton, Donald Tyler, and Bill Tyler.
