Life Story

Jeffrey Clark Sandy

Jeffrey Clark Sandy

Jeffrey Clark Sandy was born August 9th, 1968 in Kearney, Nebraska to Charles and Vicki Sandy. He grew up in Geneseo Illinois where he graduated high school at J.D. Darnell in 1987. After high school Jeff enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country proudly. After the Navy Jeff remained in the Illinois area with wife, Bonni Shevin Sandy and his three sons Evan Sandy, Brandon Sandy, and Zachary Sandy for the last 30 years. At the time of his death he was living in San Diego California. Jeff is proceeded in death by his father, Charles Michael Sandy. He is survived by his mother, Vicki Sandy, sister, Amy Sandy Balk. Jeff also leaves nephews, Jordan and Austin and a niece, Megan. Jeff also leaves behind many friends who became family over the years due to his dedication to those he loved. He will be greatly missed. Jeff will always be remembered for his generous heart, amazing smile and a laugh that would brighten your day. He will also be remembered for for his courage and grace during difficult times. Jeff always made sure that the ones he loved felt safe and loved, always giving them shelter during the difficult times. It came as a shock to many of us that Jeff was fighting his own demons and that they became to much. The hurt and pain that Jeff carried was always hidden so as not to burden others with his problems. His death has left us emotionally raw and trying to understand how he could have carried all his pain for so long without those closest to him knowing what was going on. The only answer that makes sense is Jeff was just so protective of his loved ones that he put himself behind everyone else. He was a caring, loving man, not given to ego or unhealthy self-assertion, and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. His main focus in this life was to bring joy, happiness, love and security to all those around him. There were never strings attached to his love, to him it was just the right thing to do. A Celebration of Life will be held in Chicago with details below. Please consider donating to The National Domestic Abuse Foundation to honor Jeff. Celebration of Life for Jeffrey C.
