Mary Belle Capps
Stallings - Mary Belle Capps, of Stallings, NC went home to be with The Lord on March 3, 2022. The family will receive friends on April 9th, 2022, from 2 to 3 and a celebration of her life will begin at 3, at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services at 4431 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Mary was born on December 12, 1942, to Newell and Marie (Mattox) Sanders. She married Redmond Lee Capps on March 12, 1961, and they were married 50 years before Lee's passing in 2011. Mary was a wife and mother foremost, but she also worked as a nurse's aide at The Good Samaritan's House in Geneseo, IL, a childcare provider, while living in CA, UPS Employee, and a Walmart cashier while living in NC. With her husband and children, she traveled throughout the United States, living in IL, VA, CA, and finally settling in NC. Mary loved to sew and was an amazing seamstress and made many different things, but most notably were her blankets and angels. She was an active member of North Star Community Church for over 6 years, and a faithful member of a Tuesday Morning Bible Study for over 10 years. Mary loved playing games and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She is survived by her children, Margie Capps of Malaysia, Cindy and Gary Rataj of Stallings, Brian and Brenda Capps of Mt. Holly and Brenda Capps of Matthews, 18 Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her sister in TX, three brothers and their wives, and her sisters-in-law all in IL. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one grandchild. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff from the trauma unit at Atrium Main in Charlotte. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff from the Charlotte Region Hospice for their care and respect they gave to our mom during her last days.
