Larry J. Bodin, 82, of Silvis, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29th, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. James Patrick will officiate. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Victory Baptist Church

Larry Joseph Bodin was born February 21, 1940, in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Neal A. and Lois L. Havlik Bodin. He was educated in the Quad Cities and graduated from Rock Island High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. His marriage to Bonnie Jones took place on July 3, 1969, in Rock Island. She passed away on March 7, 2013.

He was employed at Oscar Meyer, Rich Metals, and retired from Alter Metals, all of which were in Davenport. His hobbies were photography, motorcycles, shooting sports, and collecting toys. Larry was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Victory Baptist Church in East Moline.

Those surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Mark Hilliard, Laura, Illinois, a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Carrie Bodin, Silvis, nine grandchildren, Mark Andrew (Tonya) Hilliard, Bridget Ellen (Tim) Bearden, Andrew Wayne (Rachel) DeGroot, Joshua James Russell (Dakota) DeGroot, Michael Jeremiah Hilliard, Chance Skyler DeGroot, Mason James Hilliard, Hannah Lee Bodin, Jesse Ray Bodin, and 11 great grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers, Rodger and Bruce Bodin, and a sister, Jan Bodin.

His parents, his wife, and a grandson, Jordan Lee DeGroot, preceded him in death.
