Naida Claire Moburg, 93, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2022, at her son and daughter-in-law’s house in Moline, IL, surrounded by her loving family. In accordance with Naida’s wishes, graveside services celebrating her life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel prior to the graveside service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society – Geneseo, 14606 Roos Hill Road, Geneseo, IL, 61254, and the First Presbyterian Church, 133 E. North Street, Geneseo, IL, 61254.

Naida was born on February 22, 1929, in Booneville, IN, to Hugo and Gladys (Ricketts) Milner. She was a 1946 graduate of Geneseo High School. Naida united in marriage to Howard Moburg on August 10, 1947, at Geneseo Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church. Howard preceded her in death in 1990.

Naida loved animals all her life, including Tucker, her cat, and joyful companion the past several years. Naida was a former cub scout leader, volunteer at her children’s schools and church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, cooking, doing cross word puzzles and spending time with family. Anyone that knew Naida knows of her love for giraffes and her vast collection. She was an avid reader in her younger years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Geneseo. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs. She adored her grandsons and her great-grandchildren who were always delighted to go to great-gramma’s house for a visit.

Survivors include her sons, Rick (Lisa) Moburg, Moline, IL, Jim (Ann) Moburg, Claremore, OK; daughter, Andrea (Jeff) McCubbin, Galesburg, MI; grandsons, Eric (Lauren) Moburg, Colorado Springs, CO, Jason (Nichole Mumby) McCubbin, Chicago, IL, and Andrew (David Dixon) McCubbin, Laurel, MD; great-granddaughters Elliana Moburg, Colorado Springs, CO, Amelia, Addison, and Alexis McCubbin, Chicago, IL; and great-grandson, Arvid McCubbin, Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Milner, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was the last family member of her generation.

Thanks to the staff at Bickford of Moline, IL, ProMedica/Arcadia Memory Care Unit, Moline, IL, Trinity Hospital, Rock Island Emergency Department, and the hospital’s cardiac care unit.
