Darlene E. (DeBaillie) Wyffels, 92, of Geneseo passed away on October 15, 2022, at Hillcrest Home-Geneseo. Per her wishes private family only services will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory-Geneseo Chapel and she will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials can be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans. Condolences can be left at www.vandemorefuneralhome.com
Darlene was born in Moline, IL, on March 28, 1930, the daughter of Leo and Lillie (Brown) DeBaillie. On February 26, 1949, she married Vernon Wyffels, and he preceded her in death. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1947. Darlene was a dental assistant in her younger years to Drs. Wood and Schmelzel, Dr. Robert Daniels and Dr. Hayden DeDecker. She also worked at the Deck Restaurant. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and restoring antique furniture. Darlene was a member of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church and was very active in St. Malachy’s Parent’s Club when her children went to school there. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.
Survivors include her children; Greg (Robin) Wyffels, Vicki (Bob) Orsi, Chris (Vic) Boblett and Angela (Cris) Bouwens, grandchildren; Mike (Meghan) Orsi, Jennifer (Aruch) Poonsapaya, Doug (Emily) Boblett, Katie Rice and Jessica (Kyle) Gambon, great grandchildren; Jonathan Orsi, Owen Poonsapaya, Eli, Sadie and Isaac Boblett and Madelyn Rice, brother, Jerry DeBaillie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Phillip and Arnold DeBaillie.
