Dorothy was born on August 20, 1933, the daughter of Harry and Helen (Temple) Bultema, in Muskegon, MI. Dorothy grew up in Prophetstown on a farm with her parents and siblings. Through the years she worked hard and made her way to finding the love of her life, Rodney Lee in 1950. Dot and Rod fell in love quickly and married in 1951. Dorothy cherished every day of her life with Rod. They spent their time dancing, playing cards with friends and working hard. There wasn't a party Dot and Rod ever missed. Dorothy and Rod shared 71 loving years together guided by their faith and love for God. Dorothy was blessed with two sons, Randy and Marty that she adored dearly. Randy and Marty then started their families. Marty blessed Dorothy with four grand-daughters Lexie, Taryn, and Torie, Taylor. Randy gave Dorothy her one and only grandson, Chase. Dorothy loved her boys and grandchildren dearly all her life. In 2010 Dorothy was blessed to be a great grandma "GiGi" to her first great granddaughter, Sydnie. Shortly after Dot had 5 more great grandchildren, Kamden, Cason, Cole, Saylor, and Laken. Dorothy guided and loved her family and friends with all her heart. She loved without conditions and touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Words cannot express our sorrow, Dot, Mom, Grandma, and Gigi will be greatly missed. As Dorothy always said, "This too shall pass".
Those left to cherish her memory included her husband of 71 years, Rodney; children, Randy Lee (Veronica) Remme of Loma Linda, MO, Marty Joe Remme of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Lexie (Casey) Smith, Taryn Tia Remme, Torie (Jake) Voliner, Chase Remme, Taylor Remme; and great-grandchildren, Sydnie, Kamden, Cason, Cole, Saylor, and Laken.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Bultema; brothers, Johnny, Johny, and Harry, Jr. Bultema; and, sister, Joanne Hill.
The family would like to thank everyone who cared and took care of her through her last several weeks to include Hammond Henry hospital and Long term care staff.
