Joe W. Herring, 54, of Ophiem, IL passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Private family services and burial will be held. A Celebration of Life for the public will be Sunday, November 22, 2020 from noon until 5 p.m. at The Nutty Bar in Andover, IL. Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha is in charge of arrangements. He was born November 22, 1965 in Geneseo, IL to Walter and Helen Clark Herring. He attended the AlWood schools.
Joe was employed at Johnson’s Heating and Air in Kewanee for 26 years.
He was a member of the Western and QC Jeep Clubs and Central Illinois ABATE. Joe was an avid traveler. He enjoyed riding his Harley, kayaking, Jeeping, camping, the outdoors and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his fiancé: Vittoria “Tory” Eagle of Ophiem, IL; children: Raelynn (Mat) Keller of Alpha, IL; Cassie Herring of Woodhull, IL; Mason Herring of Ophiem, IL; six grandchildren: Deanna, Jasmine, Lincoln, Braxton, Gemma, Scarlett; mother: Helen Herring of Arcola, IL; siblings: Ed (Rose) Torrence of LaHarp, IL; Irene Wadhams of Champaign, IL; Garnet (Phil) Babcock of Oklahoma City, OK; Donnie (Lori) Herring of Cooks Mills, IL; Raymond (Tracey) Herring of Cambridge, IL; several nieces and nephews including special nephew: Todd Herring of Andover, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father: Walter Herring and nephew: Steven Wadhams.
