Obituary

With heavy hearts, The Johnson Family sadly announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Kevin D. Johnson on January 2,2021 in Tucson, Arizona.

Kevin was born  December 3, 1964, in Moline, Il, the son of Donald and Rosalie ( Vermeulen) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Johnson. Kevin was loved and raised by his parents in his hometown of Geneseo, Illinois with his siblings, Denise (Ted) Coe and Stephanie ( Larry ) Reed. Kevin graduated from JD Darnall High School in Geneseo, Il in 1984. He then moved and made his home in Tucson, Arizona. He worked for the City of Tucson for 24 and a half years . Kevin loved growing up in Geneseo, and even though he had spent most of his life in Tucson he often spoke of how much he loved his hometown.

Kevin leaves behind his three children to carry on his spirit, Michael ( Val) Vargas, Marcus ( Marina) Johnson and Jessica Johnson. He leaves behind many loving  cousins, nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncles and friends.  His love for his children and his  5 grandchildren was known for miles away. No matter what Kevin put his kids and grandchildren first and always made time for them. His warm heart and generous spirit will be greatly missed. His love of the  Denver Broncos was known to all. He still had a deep love for his hometown Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.

Kevin was laid to rest in a private family service on January 16th, 2021 in Tucson, AZ. at the Funeraria del Angel University. Online condolences may be left at dignitymemorial.com.

In lieu of memorials the family asks that Kevin be kept in your prayers and to keep him alive in memories and to celebrate the life he had.
