Geneseo junior Madison Munoz has advanced to the IHSA sectionals for the second-consecutive season.

On Feb. 3, Munoz nabbed a sectional berth by earning an at-large bid by finishing fourth in the all-around at the Lincoln Way East Regional.

Munoz also qualified individually on vault and the balance beam.

Munoz advanced to the Hinsdale Central Sectional held on Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.

The Lady Leafs (104.925) team took fourth in the four-team field with host Lincoln Way East (142.575) winning the regional championship.

Munoz scored a 33.625 in the all around which combines performances from the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor routine.

A sectional advancer in the vault last season, Munoz finished seventh in the vault with a score of 8.850.

She added a seventh-place finish on the balance beam (8.275) and was 11th in the uneven bars (7.925).

On her floor routine, Munoz was 11th with a score of 8.575.

Munoz has had a solid season earning a first-place finish in the all around at the Riverside Brookfield competition earlier in the year.

Geneseo freshmen Alexys Johnson finished in ninth place (24.825) and Sarah Buzard landed in 10th place (22.900).

Johnson finished 15th (7.325) for her floor exercise, and she was 16th in the vault with a 8.100 mark.

Johnson finished 17th (5.400) on the balance beam, and 19th (4.000) for her performance on the uneven bars.

Buzard earned 17th in the floor competition (6.550) and the uneven bars (4.950).

Buzard added a 19th-place finish in the vault (7.000) along with a 20th-place finish on the balance beam.

The Lady Leafs’ Madison Koustas finished 18th in the uneven bars (4.450) and was 18th in the vault (7.175).

GHS’ Lilly Henderson earned 18th on the balance beam (5.150) and added an 18th place performance with her floor routine (6.300).

Geneseo’s Erin Starkey was 19th for her floor routine (6.075) and 19th for her performance on the balance beam (4.400).
