Dixon at Geneseo

The Duchesses scored a pair of first-half goals to defeat Geneseo 2-0 at the Geneseo Soccer Pitch on March 22.

Dixon’s Madalin Blumhoff scored on a free kick in the seventh minute of the match, and Gianna Verive scored on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute to give the Duchesses a 2-0 lead by halftime.

With players on spring break, Geneseo was playing shorthanded and leaning on a lot of younger players on defense.

Geneseo’s Lauren Pardoe made a diving save in the 53rd minute of the match to keep the Leafs in striking distance, and she slapped away another strong chance with just 17th minutes remaining.

The Lady Leafs put all the puzzle pieces together on both sides of the pitch earning a 4-0 victory over on March 26.

Geneseo scored three first-half goals, and Pardoe made seven saves in net to record the Lady Leafs’ second shutout of the season.

Rachel Daniels scored in the fourth minute of the match to spark the Geneseo offense.

Keeli Frerichs scored to open a two-goal lead in the 23rd minute, and MaKenzie Thompson scored with an assist from Ellie Whiteman just five minutes later.

In the second half, Frerichs put away a goal with an assist from Kristin Polowy to end any comeback hopes.

Geneseo’s JV team had a strong showing dominating Alleman for a 9-0 victory.
