Increased holdings, customers prompt CSB expansion

“Come Grow with Us,” is, apparently, more than an advertising slogan used by Community State Bank.

The bank, which opened its new downtown Kewanee banking center in June of 2007, will now turn its attention to its original bank location on the east edge of Galva.

Plans for the expansion project, which will nearly double the location’s size, include a larger board room and a separate conference room, plus a dedicated bookkeeping area, first floor storage, a sit-down teller station, an enclosed work room and some additional space for growth.

The bank’s parking area will expand, as well, allowing bank employees to all park at the rear of the facility, leaving the entire front lot available for customers.

“It really snuck up on us,” said CSB President Kevin Yepsen, “We really didn’t realize how much space we had run out of until we sat down and looked at it. It was time to do something.”
