Main Street Eatery, a new restaurant in downtown Galva, opened for business on May 13.

Owned by Tami Siemers of Galva, the eatery is located at 320 Main Street, in the former Dano’s Pizzeria & Ice Cream.

“I wanted to bring something a little different to Galva,” Siemers said Tuesday. “Basically, I wanted to give Galva another option” for dining.

Open 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, the restaurant features casseroles, soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis and desserts. Sunday menus will tend to be casserole- or brunch-related delicacies.

Everything is homemade daily from scratch, Siemers said.

Hard-serve flavored ice cream is offered; soft-serve ice cream may be added at some point.

The facility is available for parties, bridal or baby showers and other special occasions. Carryout is available daily.

Currently, there’s seating for 28 in the eatery, which includes the west room next to the former Dano’s counter. There’s room, though, for perhaps 40 people to dine comfortably. Outside seating will be offered in warm weather.

Tastefully decorated in greens and earth tones with white trim, the eating area has a more-delicate tea room type of feeling that customers may enjoy.
