Event of the Day: Lions ice cream social

The Galva Lions Club will host its annual ice cream social tonight, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Wiley Park.

The menu includes barbecue sandwich, cole slaw, chips, drink, ice cream and pie. Cost is a free-will donation.

The Bishop Hill Hi-Society Band will be performing.

Because of tonight's Lions event, the weekly Dinner in the Park series in Veterans Memorial Park will not be held tonight. It will return on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
