Tillandsia, an air plant, will be used to make holiday ornaments in a workshop at the University of Illinois Extension office in Galva.

University of Illinois Extension has changed the date of an adult holiday gift-making workshop to be held in Galva.

Originally planned for Thursday, Dec. 1, the workshop will now be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Henry County Extension, 358 Front St., Galva.

Here’s what’s planned:

• Air plant ornaments are really popular. Learn how easy they are to make. Everyone will make one teardrop holiday ornament using a tillansdia, air plant.

• How about some quick and easy gifts to make using dried herbs from your kitchen? A quick herb blend will be then put into an attractive holiday container for a simple hostess gift.

• Dry skin in winter? Always reaching for your lip balm and lotions? Learn how to make a minty lip balm from natural ingredients, plus a rich body butter to smooth away winter itchy skin.

Cost is $25.
