The City of Galva will pick up yard waste on Friday, Oct. 15, in the last scheduled pickup of the season. Leaves will be picked up that day.

After Nov. 1, yard waste will only be picked up if residents call City Hall to request it. Regular twice-a-month pickups will resume in April.

Eligible items are grass clippings, weeds, leaves and garden waste.

Waste must be placed in bags which have a pickup sticker attached. Stickers cost $2 each. Buy stickers at City Hall, Hathaway’s True Value or the Galva IGA store.

Sticks and branches are not included in lawn waste pickups. Sticks and branches are always picked up free of charge, whenever city workers can get to them.

For more information, call City Hall at 932-2555.
