The Geneseo Lady Leaf golfers were in postseason action this past week as the girls competed in IHSA Regional and Sectional competitions.

Geneseo High School junior golfer Allison Farrell missed out on a trip to state this year as she was unable to advance out of the Oct. 11 Pekin Sectional.
Farrell finished the day shooting a 95 for the course.
“The day started off a little tough and I don’t know if it was nerves, but Allison got in the water on first hole and shot a 52 on the back nine,” said head coach Judi Nash. “But she came back and shot a 43 on the front.
“She felt pretty good about how the day went and there were a lot of big scores. She was close, but she is only a junior and there is always next year. She had a great season and I think she has a lot to be proud of.”
IHSA Regionals
Geneseo’s Farrell was the lone Lady Leaf golfer to advance out of the Oct. 6 Galesburg Regional at Lake Bracken Country Club.
“There were ups and downs,” said Nash. “We went out and did our best and I think the season ended on a positive note.”
Farrell shot a 95 for the Par 71 course, followed by Alex Radue with a 108.
Kelsey Wirth recorded a 109 for the day, while Karah Bishop and Emilee Green both carded 110s and McKenzie Carey shot a 112.
“It was a great season,” said Nash. “Being conference champs was big. We only lost to Galesburg and Moline and we were competitive in the matches we lost. It was a really good season. The girls have a whole lot to be proud of and should be proud of themselves for the way they competed.”
