Richmond Hill staging comedy 'Love Thy Neighbor'
Richmond Hill Players will present Gary Ray Stapp's comedy "Love Thy Neighbor." The play is directed by Eugenia Giebel of Geneseo.
The show will be staged Thursdays through Sundays, Aug. 15 through Aug. 25 at the Barn Theatre in Geneseo.
Armed with an attitude and binoculars, Leona is consumed with anxiety over her new, oddball neighbors. Obnoxious gum-chewing Gafina, her hillbilly "Maw," her simple-minded boyfriend and her "trampy" sister turn the neighborhood upside down.
Outnumbered, but refused to be outmatched, Leona vows to purge them from her cul-de-sac, despite the lack of support from her own couch potato husband and none-too-bright neighbor, Judy.
The cast features: Jan Golz and Alex Wolking of Rock Island; Elizabeth DeReu, Diane Greenwood, Stacy Herrick, Eric Noyd and Archie Williams, all of Geneseo; Terry Nelson of Lynn Center; Jim Strauss of Davenport, Iowa; and Gary Clark of Bettendorf, Iowa.
The staff includes stage manager Suzanne DeReu of Geneseo, tech director Archie Williams of Geneseo, set builders Bill and Taylor Giebel of Geneseo, light and sound operator Jeff Blackwell of Coal Valley and crew member Greg Golz of Rock Island.
Fridays and Saturdays the doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sundays are 3 p.m. matinees with the doors opening at 2 p.m.
