Xi Kappa Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held their Beginning Day at Sally Nelson’s Oak Run home with a salad buffet.

On Sept. 3 the group met at Country Morning Coffee Cafe in Kewanee. Elizabeth and Eric Wolf gave the program, on coffee. The Wolfs, owners of the cafe, purchase green beans from all over the world. Elizabeth roasts, blends and packages every batch of coffee herself.

Following the program members reconvened at the home of Jean Mann. Linda Owens reported on the trip to the Peoria Chiefs baseball game taken by members and spouses. Elin Stephan reported on the progress of the upcoming craft show on Sept. 18.

On Sept. 17, sisters met at the Carol Stomberg home. Diana Craig, president, called the meeting to order. Thank yous were received from Karly Johnston for her scholarship award, and from the family of Amy Anderson. Craft show plans were finalized.

Carol Stomberg presented the program on her friendly venture. She spends one day a month visiting church members residing in nursing homes. It has grown to include other Galva people and acquaintances.

The next meeting is a wiener roast for the residents of Lincoln House.
