The annual Photo Show conducted by the Galva Arts Council has once again been set for July 4 as a part of the 2009 Galva Freedom Fest celebration.

The show is open to all photographers. Competitive categories include children, beginner, advanced, professional, and a theme category. The theme category this year is Windows and Doors. Only photographs submitted in the theme category must contain windows and/or doors.

All other categories are open subjects.

Photographs must be framed and ready to be hung but can be no larger than 11 x 14 inches or panoramic up to 20 inches in length. If the photograph is not framed, it will not be accepted.

Photographs will be accepted at the Arts Council building at 130 N. Exchange St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 27 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 28.

An entry fee of $6 ($4 for Arts Council members) will be charged for each photograph entered in the show. Photographs will be professionally judged by Trent Foltz, a commercial photographer from Geneseo.

A reception will be held for the public beginning at 10 a.m. July 4 at the Arts Council building. Awards and/or ribbons for each category of photographers will be presented at 10:30 a.m. during the reception.

Photographs may be viewed from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4.
