Janice Larson, director of the Ransom Memorial Library in Altona, is the featured person in the "Q & A with . . ." feature in the July 16 Galva News.

Name: Janice Larson

Age: 67 and counting

Occupation: first I was a housewife, then a mother and farm wife, and now the best of all, a grandmother!! OH!! and yes, I have enjoyed serving as the librarian at the Ransom Memorial Public Library in Altona for almost 38 years. (I’ll have to think about retiring one of these years!)

Favorite food: Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate!!!!

If I could live anywhere else, I’d choose: Right now I can’t imagine living anywhere else but on the farm. I am definitely a homebody. Hopefully when I am no longer able to take care of my place, I’ll have the good sense to downsize. And to phrase a thought of the late Bill Mills, “What! And leave Altona?”

One person I’d like to meet is: Someday I hope to meet my late husband, Dean, in heaven as I sure do miss him and have so much to tell him.

Some advice I’ve received that I think is worth passing on: I heard my dad say of life, “We’re just passing through,” so I say enjoy what time you have here on earth as it passes so quickly and fortunately we don’t always know what may lie ahead.
