Area girls glitter in Knox County Fair pageant

Miranda Malone of Victoria didn’t win the 2010 Miss Knox County Fair Queen pageant on Sunday at the Orpheum Theater in Galesburg. But she did very well - winning first runner-up and Miss Congeniality.

Malone, 18, daughter of Roger and Mary Ann Malone, was the lone Galva area contestant in the eight-entrant field. She is a 2010 graduate of ROWVA High School. She plans to attend Southern Illinois University.

Amelia Rogers of Knoxville was crowned 2010 Miss Knox County Fair Queen.

Amanda Mines of Galesburg was crowned Junior Miss Knox County Fair Queen, while Natalie Nelson of Rio was named Little Miss Knox County Fair Queen.

Madelynn Main of Altona received second runner-up in the Junior Miss pageant. She is the daughter of Pete and Christi Main. Danielle Howard of Wataga also competed in that pageant. She is the daughter of Diane and Walt Howard.

Natalie Nelson also won Miss Congeniality in the Little Miss contest. She is the daughter of Dave and Christine Nelson.

Natalie’s younger sister, Grace, won third runner-up in the Little Miss pageant.
