Q & A with . . . Bill Spilman

Have resided in Oneida since: 2006
One of my cherished childhood memories is: Hitting my one and only career home run in Little League. It was a game winner.
If I had one day to live any way I wished, I would: spend it with my family first and foremost. That would include my dad, who passed away a few years ago at 58. The older I get, the more I wish he was around so I could glean wisdom from him. It would be great to spend one more day with my dad.
People might be surprised to learn that I: used to be an alcoholic. I was known as the father of the Spilman Rum and Coke. Praise God that I’m now known as the daddy of six wonderful children.
Some advice I’ve received that I think is worth passing on to others is: Sin is the disease. Christ is the cure. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Paul in Romans 6:23)
Pet peeves: When my wife and I first started dating, she drank out of the milk jug. Ewwww. Something about that just gives me the willies.
