Most respondents to a Galva News poll believe that city councils and school boards should have rules regarding how often their members can miss meetings.

The poll, which ended May 4 at galvanews.com, found that 80 percent of respondents believe that meetings rules should be set. Half of them think the rules should stipulate that council and board members should attend at least 80 percent of their meetings; the other half think they should attend at least 70 percent of meetings. The remaining 20 percent believe 50 percent attendance is necessary.

This week’s question asks whether respondents believe that Osama bin Laden’s death is a major – or a minor – step in helping keep Americans safe.
