Ristau will share her newest novel Dec. 12 in Geneseo

Kate Ristau, originally from Geneseo, writes young adult fantasy novels and will give a reading at Smith Studio and Gallery on Monday, Dec. 12.

Author and Geneseo native Kate Ristau will provide a book signing and reading at the Smith Studio and Gallery on Monday, Dec. 12.

Ristau, a 1999 Geneseo graduate, now lives in Oregon and has written a pair of young adult fantasy novels as well as a grammar guidebook.

She will be at Smith Studio and Gallery from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 12. The reading and book signing also will include refreshments.

Her latest novel, “Clockbreakers” was released in September.

In the novel, on her 11th birthday, Charlie receives a key to go back in time. But time travel isn’t easy. Before she blows out her candles, Charlie lands in Greece with her best friend Maria and her former best friend Trent. She’s a Clockbreaker, stuck in a Greek myth, on an action-packed adventure with a mission: to save her father, and perhaps even save the world.
