Kevin Wood will portray U.S. President Abraham Lincoln during a program at the Geneseo Public Library.

The program will start at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11. The program is free and open to the public.

Wood will portray Lincoln in period dress. He will discuss Lincoln’s life and the history of the United States from independence through the Civil War. The program will be followed by a question and answer session.

Wood, who lives in Oak Park, has portrayed Lincoln for the past 12 years. He said that his uncanny resemblance to Lincoln became evident when, as a young man, his height reached 6’3” and he grew a beard.

Years later, it occurred to him to combine his love of history and interest in Lincoln with his experience in public speaking to portray the 16th president.
