Drive a car and eat some pork to benefit Galva Fire Department

If you like to test drive new cars and enjoy pork sandwiches with all the trimmings, the Galva Fire Department has what you’re looking for Saturday, Aug. 18.
The fire department is hosting its annual hog roast supper from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fire station.
The meal — pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, chips, drink and dessert for $6 for adults and $3 for children — typically attracts 600 to 700 diners and raises around $6,000 to $7,000 for the department.
Drive 4 URCommunity
In conjunction with Saturday’s hog roast, Gustafson Ford of Kewanee is joining forces with the Galva Fire Department to host “Drive 4 URCommunity.”
Anyone interested in test driving a new vehicle can stop by the fire station between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Ford donates $20 per test drive and up to $6,000 per drive event.
