Area girls collect honors at fair pageants

Four area girls were among winners in Henry County Fair pageants held June 24 at the fairgrounds in Cambridge.

In the Miss Henry County Fair pageant, Nicole Goodwin of Woodhull was one of seven finalists, Ali McCaw of Alpha was named winner of the Photogenic award and Brittany Anderson of Galva tied for the Miss Congeniality award.

Kendall Cross, 19, of Lynn Center, was named Miss Henry County Fair. Amelia Martens, 16, of Orion, was first runner-up. Andrea Hemphill, 18, of Annawan, was second runner-up. There were 15 contestants.

Victoria Addis, 14, of Kewanee, was crowned Junior Miss Henry County Fair. Kaci Storm, 14, of Geneseo, was first runner-up and Maggie Schlindwein, 13, also of Geneseo, was second runner-up.

No area girls won awards in the Junior Miss Henry County Fair pageant, held for girls ages 12-14. There were 22 entrants.

Tressa Rogers, 6, of Galva, won the Photogenic award in the Little Miss Henry County Fair pageant.

Kayla Anderson of Geneseo won the Little Miss pageant, as well as its interview award and Little Miss Congeniality Award.

Bradleigh Schaefer, 6, of Cambridge, was first runner-up, and Madelyn Brown, 7, of Annawan, was second runner-up in the Little Miss Henry County Fair pageant, held for girls ages 5-7. There were 24 contestants.
