Local residents receive top honors in open sheep show

The open sheep show was held June 24 at the Henry County Fair in Cambridge with participants from both Henry County and the state.

Local residents receiving top honors included Seth Daniels Christian Sammons, Erik Sammons and Evan Sammons, all of Geneseo and Kati Pierson and Ian Manthe, both of Kewanee.

Daniels showed the Montadale Champion Ewe and both the All Other Breeds Wool Champion Ram Lamb and? Champion Ewe.

C. Sammons took home top honors with the Polypays Champion Ram Lamb. Evan Sammons joined the other champion winners with his Polypays Champion Ewe. Erik Sammons took high honors with his Polypays Reserve Champion Ram Lamb and his Polypay Reserve Champion Ewe.

Pierson had the Oxford Reserve Champion Ewe at the event while Manthe showed the Corriedales Champion Ram Lamb and the Corriedales Reserve Champion Ewe.
