Altona fireworks show pushed back

A fireworks show planned for Altona has been moved from the beginning of July to Saturday, July 26 -? Altona Day -? according to the Altona Village Board on July 3.

In other business:

?The board voted to have board member Terry Bolin contact someone to do some work on the storm sewers on Melody Lane and North Depot Street.

?Board member Dorothy Appell hopes to have sidewalk bids by the August meeting.

?The board passed an ethics ordinance.

?Attorney Dawn Connolly will draw up an ordinance about placement of items on terraces. This came up after discussion about a newspaper installing tubes in front yards.

?Resident Richard Wegner had a list of questions from board member Blair Selman, who was absent. Questions included water deposits being returned after a period of time, police reports being made available to the public, food sales on July 26, cans around town being split between the village and the fire department for the fireworks, water sales and an engineering bill.

President Sally Keener said she would discuss the items with Selman.

Board members Derrick Appell and Kim Gaines were also absent.
