Flu-shot clinics are slated

The Henry and Stark County Health Departments have received their entire supply of flu vaccine and will be sponsoring Fall Flu Clinics at various sites throughout the area in October and November.

Area clinics are:

Galva ? Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 214 NW 2nd Ave.

Woodhull ? Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Woodhull, 105 W. 3rd Ave.

Andover - Thursday, Oct. 23, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 612 6th

Kewanee - Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at Health Department Office, Rt. 78 South

These clinics are for adults 18 years of age and older. Children’s clinics will be scheduled as soon as vaccine becomes available.

Flu and pneumonia shots will be given at no-charge to those who have Medicare Part-B coverage. Bring your Medicare card.

Those not covered by Medicare Part B may obtain the annual flu vaccination for $25 and the one-time only pneumonia shot for $40.

Vaccinations can also be given in the car at the clinic site or at home if patrons cannot navigate clinic sites.

Flu and pneumonia vaccines will not be available through Health Department offices in Kewanee and Colona until these public clinics have been conducted.
