Chance to get lawn waste picked up free of charge
Galva residents wishing to get rid of yard waste free of charge can do so Friday, Oct. 17.
Yard waste is grass, weeds, garden waste, leaves and other vegetation (no tree waste such as sticks or limbs).
No stickers are required for the Oct. 17 pickup, but yard waste must be bagged (except garden waste that cannot fit into a bag).
The Oct. 17 pickup is Galva’s last scheduled yard-waste pickup of 2008. Random yard-waste pickups after Oct. 17 will be done if a $2 sticker is placed on each bag and the resident contacts City Hall at 932-2555 to arrange pickup.
Buy stickers at City Hall, Hathaway’s True Value and Galva Food Center IGA.
Tree waste -? which is sticks and limbs ?- is picked up free of charge year-round.
Tree-waste pickups are made whenever Galva city workers can do them.
Set tree waste curbside at any time.
