Sean O'Brien's truck (far right) is submerged partially in water after flood waters overtook it last week south of LaFayette.

A rural LaFayette man had to be rescued from his pickup truck which became disabled in the flood waters of Walnut Creek early Monday morning.

Sean O’Brien was pulled from his truck by LaFayette firefighters Dave Lahr and Terry Wulf, who brought his john boat to the scene on Knox County Road 2400N.

O’Brien was attempting to head into work from his home and didn’t make it through the floodwaters.

Also responding were the Knox and Stark County Sheriff’s Departments, Toulon Fire Department and the Stark County Ambulance Service.

O’Brien declined medical treatment at the scene.

Several roads were affected by flooding caused by the weekend rains.
