In honor of Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday, Bishop Hill Vasa Lodge #683 and Bishop Hill Community United Methodist Church are sponsoring a special evening Tuesday, March 31.

The night begins with the church’s annual ham dinner in the church basement, from 4 to 7 p.m. It includes ham, homemade bread and homemade pie. Cost is $7.

At 7 p.m., a Civil War Period Fashion Show will be held in the church sanctuary, featuring period style clothing worn by the 16th Iowa Veteran Volunteer Infantry regiment.

At 7:30, a Lincoln program will be held. Max and Donna Daniels of Wheaton, professional impersonators of President and Mrs. Lincoln, will perform the one-hour program, “An Evening at the White House . . . before Leaving for Ford’s Theater.”

“There is no charge for the program but we will pass the hat for a free-will donation to the Bishop Hill Vasa Lodge #683 during the program,” said Mike Wendel of the lodge.
