Celebration will honor library founder, Lincoln

Ransom Memorial Public Library in Altona will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the births of library founder George Ransom and Abraham Lincoln at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28. The public is invited.
Held in front of the library (with the street closed), the event will include librarian Janice Larson presenting a program about George Ransom, and Jim King speaking about Lincoln’s life.
Admission is free.
Bring lawn chairs.
Inside the library, a collection of books and memorabilia received from a “We the People Grant” regarding Lincoln’s 200th birthday will be on display.
Birthday cake and ice cream will be served on the patio behind the library after the program.
