Still time to pre-register for 5K run/walk

Registration is underway for the Galva Independence 5K Run/Walk to be held July 4, beginning at 8 a.m. at Wiley Park.

The 3.1-mile run will be preceded at 7:30 a.m. by a half-mile fun run around Wiley Park for children 10 and under. Entry fee for the fun run is $1 and all participants will be awarded ribbons.

There will be equal awards for both men and women in 11 age divisions. Trophies will be awarded to the top two overall male and female finishers, and to the top three placers in each age division, in addition to the top three men and women from the Galva School District.

Entry fees are: pre-registered with t-shirt, $13; pre-registered with no t-shirt, $8; day of the race (no shirt), $13. Last day to pre-register is July 1.
