Busy fair schedule continues

 The 2009 Henry County Fair continues through Sunday, June 28, at the Henry County Fairgrounds in Cambridge.

 Fair events on Friday start at 9 a.m. with junior beef show, flower judging in the art hall and a 4-H horse fun show. 

 All carnival rides will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.

 A 4-H goat show will begin at 3 p.m. followed by a Boer goat show.

 The Illini State Pullers Tractor and Truck Pull is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The beer garden will open from noon to midnight with entertainment from 7 to 11 p.m. by the band, “Nitrix”.

 Saturday’s events will start at 8 a.m. with a open goat show, 4-H rabbit show, 4-H beef showmanship, bucket calves and market beef show.

 The open horse show is set at 9 a.m. rain or shine. A talent contest will be held at the midway tent at 9 a.m.

 The Boer goat show will continue at 10 a.m. from Friday night and a garden tractor pull is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in the grandstand.

 At noon, ATV drag races will start in the grandstand infield.

 A kid’s pedal pull will begin at the midway tent at 1 p.m., with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m.

 Carnival rides will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. and then reopen again for armband night. The demolition derby will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the grandstands. 

 The beer tent will be open from noon to midnight with entertainment from 7 to 11 p.m. by “Nitrix”.

 The open goat show will open the fair Sunday at 8 a.m., followed by the mini horse show and open rabbit show at 9 a.m.

 Fairgoers may ride carnival rides from 1 to 5 p.m. for a armband.

 An Antique Tractor Pull will be held at 1 p.m. in front of the grandstand.

At 1:30 p.m., the 4-H awards ceremony will be held in the midway tent.
