? The Henry County Tourism Bureau learnedit will receive an increase of 11 percent in funding through the Local Tourism and Convention Bureau Program Grant.

The increase is a result of a 19 percent increase in hotel/motel tax and 4 percent from food and beverage and will be issued for the fiscal year beginning July 1.

As a certified Convention and Visitors Bureau, Henry County plans to use the funds to promote tourism growth through creative strategic marketing efforts and boost tourism revenue as a result of increased awareness.

The HCTB will continue its mission to endorse the many historical landmarks throughout the county including all festivals and countywide events held annually.

Other strategies include Web site and internet marketing as well as print media.

Further, it remains the goal of the HCTB to endorse the abundance of cultural activities and natural beauty located in the county’s villages and colorful communities by encouraging regional travel.

Additional visions of the bureau contain strengthening partnerships and growing its member base to support the small town businesses and the many family oriented attractions.
