Oneida can spend up to $520K

Oneida aldermen approved a 2009-2010 appropriations ordinance totaling $520,500 July 6.

City Attorney Dan Alcorn reminded the council the city will not necessarily spend the amount appropriated, but the could spend up to that amount should the money become available.

Alderman Chris Campagna, Ward 2, told the council he is still talking to Flex Court International about additional anchors on the outside of the new basketball court in Allen Park and costs involved in placing an all-purpose court in the park in the future.

The council approved a bid from Courtright Construction for $3,641.92 to replace the doors of the Allen Park restrooms.

Aldermen also briefly discussed how frequently the restrooms should be open and that cameras might eventually be needed to monitor activity in the restrooms, which have been vandalized in the past.

Aldermen did not grant a request to use Allen Park picnic tables for a class reunion outside the city, expressing concerns about city property going outside the city and possible future requests.
