Former school official found deceased

Anthony Lee Bonati, 36, former Galva Junior-Senior High School dean of students and athletic director, was pronounced dead on Dec. 31 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Bonati, of Peoria, died of an apparent hanging at a residence where he was residing, according to Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll on Monday.

An autopsy was done and an inquest will be scheduled at a later date, according to Ingersoll.

Bonati had been dean of students and athletic director here for a little over a year before resigning that position Aug. 26, 2009.
