Geneseo at Morris

Geneseo’s grapplers made the long trip to Morris Jan. 12 and made the trip worthwhile as the Leafs captured a 38-30 win.

“Overall, I guess I?am happy with a conference win, but we definitely had some technical errors,” said head coach Jon Murray. “I want to see everyone learn from their mistakes and every night walk away having learned something no matter win or lose.”

The Leafs had to come-from-behind early Tuesday night after falling in the first two matches.

Sean Lillis (135-pounds) was pinned in 3 minutes and 48 seconds, while Mitch Miller (140-lbs.) was defeated in a 3-0 decision.

Geneseo at LaSalle-Peru

The Leafs traveled to LaSalle-Peru over the weekend where they captured two wins, but fell short in their final showdown.

“It was a good day and we could have gone without a win, but it was good to get two wins with what we had,” said Murray. “Against Normal, I wasn’t displeased with how we wrestled. We fought tough.”
