Main Street bridge work to start July 12
The Main?Street bridge over the Geneseo Creek will be down to one lane starting July 12.
Crews plan to resurface the bridge, located near Stewart Street on the west side of town, said Vince Newton, the lead water operator with Geneseo’s water department.
“Hopefully the project will only take two weeks, but that will depend on weather and any structural issues they may find,” he said.
Crews plan to work on the bridge’s approach pavement and its expansion joints. The project is expected to cost $108,086.
Temporary traffic lights will be installed at the bridge, but Newton encouraged drivers to avoid the construction zone if possible.
“If you can avoid it, you should. It will be for your own convenience,” said Newton.
