State police release June statistics
Illinois State Police District No. 7 troopers handled 2,348 calls for service and assistance during June. Of those calls, 283 were to help motorists whose vehicles were disabled on area highways. Criminal activities during the month include seven people apprehended on outstanding warrants and 28 arrested for other criminal offenses. Traffic enforcement activities resulted in 265 drivers arrested for speeding and 344 cited for seat-belt violations. Driving under the influence arrests totaled 44, while 15 apprehensions for other alcohol- and drug-related offenses were recorded. Troopers issued a total of 942 traffic citations and 1,308 written warnings to motorists during the month. Troopers and weight inspectors issued 37 citations for overweight loads and issued 171 written warnings for overweight violations. District No. 7 troopers handled 44 traffic crashes within the four county area of Rock Island, Henry, Knox and Mercer. There no fatal crashes handled by District No. 7 troopers in June.
